Toronto Fall Meet 2017

Saturday, September 30, 2017 - 9:15 am to 5:00 pm

The 519 Community Centre, Room 106, 519 Church Street, Toronto (north of Church & Wellesley)

Registration fee: $20

Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st ($100), 2nd ($50) & 3rd ($25) place

Participants will be entered into a raffle for Go books

Limited to 50 participants

Light refreshments will be served

Rank discrepancies can be dealt with at the tournament

NOTE: Please pre-register online by Friday (morning), September 29, 9 am EST. You can pay on the day of the tournament. Pre-registration will make registration on tournament day quicker and we will know how much equipment to prepare. We will bring enough equipment for all pre-registrants but we cannot guarantee that there will be extra equipment for late registrants. It will be done as a first come - first serve basis. Cash prizes are also determined by the number of participants. A larger number of participants will increase the value of the prizes.

9:15 - 9:45  Registration

9:45 - 11:45  ROUND 1

11:45 - 12:15  Tea

12:15 - 2:15  ROUND 2

2:15 - 4:15  ROUND 3

4:15 - 5:00  Closing

30 minutes per player then 30 stones every 10 minutes thereafter. (Games should not last longer than 2 hours.)

Komi is 7.5 points (AGA scoring rules). Komi for handicap games is 0.5 points. There is no handicap for dan games.

We will also be testing two other time controls with some newly acquired electronic chess clocks.

3 minutes starting time then 15 seconds added to the clock after every play.

30 minutes main time and 20 seconds byo-yomi for 5 periods.
