2024 Canadian Spring Go Rating Tournament

        The 2024 Canadian Autumn Go Rating Tournament, hosted by Gofun Studio and CGA, will be held on May 4th, 2024 at the venue sponsor KSSC（King Square Sports Center）.

1. Purpose and objectives of the Tournament

Players can upgrade their Go certificates through this Tournament. Top of Form

This Tournament is chaired by Yong Liu, Principal of Gofun Studio, serves as the Executive Chairman, and James Sedgwick, President of the Canadian Go Association, and ZhaoXi Bu President of KSSC serves as the consultant. The Tournament organizing committee is composed of teachers from Gofun Studio and enthusiastic parent volunteers. At the same time, this Tournament follows the Tournament rules of the Canadian Go Association (CGA) and also meets the requirements of the International Go Federation for Go Tournaments. For more Tournament rules, please refer to the "Tournament Order Book" and "Tournament Rules"; any matters not covered shall be arbitrated by the organizing committee.

4. Registration method and deadline

1)      The registration deadline is 23:59 on May 20, 2024 (ET)

2)      When registering, please provide name, gender, age, Go Level. Once the registration is submitted, it is recognized that the information filled in the registration is regarded as public information.

3)      The early bird registration fee before 23:59 on April 1 is: $35/person; the registration fee after April 1 is: $45/person

4)      Please EMT the registration fee directly to [email protected] (When EMT transfers, please be sure to indicate the name of the registered player in the Message!)

5. Eligibility and Grouping

Eligibility: Under 18 years old (born after May 4th, 2006)

Level requirements: 99 Go Platform 14K or above (non-99 Go students need to be evaluated and confirmed by the teacher)

Grouping principles:

Group A is a segmented group (99 Go and above 1 D, 19-way board)

Group B is the advanced group (99 Go 9K to 1K, 19-way board)

Group C is the junior group (99 Go 14K to 10K, 13-way board)

6. Rewards

The top three in each group and the best female player in the game will be awarded respectively. Those who upgrade will receive a Canadian Go Association (CGA) Level certificate (an additional $10-$20 is required to be paid to CGA, of which: $10 for 6K~25K, The fee for 1K-5K is $15, and the fee for 1D and above is $20).

7. Sponsor categories and rights:

We wholeheartedly invite organizations and individuals to support Go games, sponsor this Tournament, and actively contribute to the promotion of Go!

A.Title Sponsor:, sponsorship amount $3000

1. Name the Tournament after the sponsor. The Tournament advertisement is published on the sponsor’s 1-page advertising page;

2. Sponsor’s customized promotional articles will be published after each Tournament advertisement;

3. Display 2 roll-up promotional banners on site;

4. There will be 2 publicity exhibition tables at the Tournament site, and promotional materials such as color picture pages will be distributed.

B. Diamond sponsorship: several, each sponsorship amount is $1,000

1. The Tournament advertisement is published on the sponsor’s 1-page advertising page;

2. Sponsor’s customized promotional articles will be published after each Tournament advertisement;

3. Display one roll-up promotional banner on site;

4. A promotional exhibition table will be provided at the Tournament site, and promotional materials such as color picture pages will be distributed.

C. Platinum sponsorship: several, each sponsorship amount is $500

1. The Tournament advertisement is published on the sponsor’s 1/2 page advertising page;

2. Sponsor’s customized promotional articles will be published after each Tournament advertisement;

3. Display one roll-up promotional banner on site;

4. A promotional exhibition table will be provided at the Tournament site, and promotional materials such as color picture pages will be distributed.

D. Gold sponsorship: several, sponsorship amount is $200 each

1. Sponsor’s customized promotional articles will be published at the end of each Tournament announcement;

2. One roll-up promotional banner will be displayed on site;

3. There will be one publicity exhibition table at the Tournament site, and promotional materials such as coloring pages will be distributed.

E. Friendly sponsorship:

1. There is no limit on the number and amount of sponsorship;

2. The list of friendly sponsoring organizations or individuals will be included in the Tournament announcement and published at the same time.
